Lake levels influence everything from shoreline erosion to boat access, dock safety, and even the lake’s ecological balance. To keep the community informed, a sensor on the lake bottom measures water (or ice) height every 15 minutes, converts it to an accurate lake level, and transmits it instantly to the USGS.
